Areas of town to visit

Bars
Winnipeg has a great bar scene with it's young demographic and the fact it is the only major population centre for hundreds of miles around, and has two major universities helps, too. The city has over 300 bars, nightclubs and pubs.

Winnipeg's restaurant scene has over 800 restaurants to choose from, running the full range from affordable fast food, to interesting ethnic restaurants, to fine dining.
Festivals
- Festival de Voyageur - Western Canada's largest winter festival based on the fur trade era. Historical and cultural treasures of the French-Canadian heritage, entertainment, international dog sled races, and traditional cuisine are showcased.
- Red River Exhibition - Manitoba's largest midway, this family entertainment event starts with a parade and continues with nightly family entertainment and attractions, youth talent showcase, displays and creative exhibits, Aboriginal Village, and Scottish Heritage Festival.
- Folkorama - Folklorama is the largest and longest running multicultural celebration in the world. Canada's cultural celebration takes participants on a journey of discovery through an array of over 40 international pavilions offering sights, sounds and tastes of the world.
